Kasper’s Story: TEAM Denmark

Kasper Skovgaard is representing Denmark at this year’s Homeless World Cup in Sacramento.

He grew up in Holbæk and is currently living in Kalundborg. Kasper is sharing a little apartment with a friend at this point, but recently he has been without a home. He has been mostly sleeping in his car or staying with friends.

What is your relationship with football?

Football always been a part of my life. I have always enjoyed playing and I think I have played every position on the field. Playing football is my way of coping with things when I am stressed. I have had a lot of stress in my life recently and football has really helped me to deal with that

How do you feel about representing your country?

I’m proud. I first I couldn’t believe that I was one of the chosen ones. But I was and that makes me so happy and proud

How has life changed since becoming part of the programME?

OMBOLD has giving me a lot more self-confidence. It has helped me to deal with the stress of being without a home and now I have an apartment that I share with a friend.

What is your next big step to move forward in your life?

It was a huge step to get my own apartment that I now share with a friend. So I just want to continue with life and continue being happy and grateful.
