WORLD UNITED 5K LEAGUE CHAMPION ANNOUNCED
All season long the final weekend looked likely to be dramatic, and what drama we saw! Despite climbing to the summit just as we entered the weekend, Real Madrid were not able to hold on to top spot and have had this year’s World United 5k league title stolen from their grasp by Corinthians on the final day!
Manchester United find themselves in third spot having peaked just a little too soon followed by Flamengo and a late-surging Rangers who finished 5th. Liverpool, despite having their eyes on the prize a few short weeks ago find themselves finishing just outside the top five. Los Cules of FC Barcelona end the season sat in 7th ahead of Manchester City and Paris St Germain, both clubs’ season’s picking up but being far too little far too late. Celtic climb above Sunderland to finish the season just in the top half.
Tottenham Hotspur settle for 12th ahead of FC Porto and Bavarian juggernaut Bayern Munich, who had their best week of the season at the very ending as they slowly shunt in to gear and drive themselves to 14th ahead of Juventus. Newcastle and Napoli avoid the bottom three thanks to the misfortunes of Inter Miami and River Plate. Girona will be happy to have done just about enough to stay in the top 20 of the inaugural World United 5 k league, until next season!
