Homeless World Cup joins Football For The Goals

The Homeless World Cup is among more than 50 football organisations who have joined the Football for the Goals initiative.

The Homeless World Cup is delighted to join the Football for the Goals global community.

Football for the Goals is run by the United Nations and brings together international organisations who are using football to tackle and raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At the Homeless World Cup, we believe in the importance of the SDGs and see sport as a key tool in bringing people together to create truly meaningful change.

Also, as a global event, we will continue to commit to being as sustainable as possible in our approaches.

Co-founder of the Homeless World Cup Mel Young said: “Football is a united language which brings people together, breaks down barriers, and enables us to tackle some of the world’s biggest problems.

This United Nations initiative ‘Football for the Goals’ mirrors the aims and objectives of the Homeless World Cup so it is brilliant to be part of a global movement full of likeminded people. By using key lessons from football, such as working together as a team, we can change the world.”
