Player profile: Ng Yuk Lun (Melon), Hong Kong

Posted on 13/09/2009

NGNg Yuk Lun, 24, number 86 of the Hong Kong team.

Despite his young age this boy has a complicated.... past. He was a victim of drug addiction. When his family discovered the situation they dishinerited him and throw him out from home. He was alone and he had no places to go so he started to live in the street until the local police noticed him and caught him. However, he was sent to a rehab program instead of being imprisoned in a jail. Here he started to play footbal as it was part of the rehabilitation treatment.

Thanks to his strenght and his will to change he got here in Milan in this World football championship and now his family support him because they can see too how far Melon arrived.

Today he says that once he will be back to Hong Kong he'll tell everyone this experience to encourage those people who are in situation similar to his. He never expected to partecipate to this event and he is glad to be here even if he can't wait to come back to HOng Kong and start a new life with his soon to be wife. We all wish you luck!!!
