Self belief creates success

Posted by Ireland - 02/03/2007

Organised by Sean Kavanagh of Ireland’s Issues Magazine, Street Leagues are seen as a catalyst in helping homeless people to develop self-esteem, underpinned by the understanding that having belief in yourself is the first step to leading a happy, productive life.

Last year the Street League joined with the Playing For Life Charity to sponsor the Kenyan team. After the Cape Town 2006 Homeless World Cup the Irish team travelled to Kenya to help coach young children and continue their experience of a lifetime.

It was Ireland's team that finished 5th in Edinburgh that captured the hearts of the Homeless World Cup fans with their team spirit which deservedly awarded them with official caps for their country from the Irish FA.

Always a suprising touch, what will be in store for the Irish team for Copenhagen 2007?

I would like to wish the England, Scottish and Irish lads, Louis, Ally, Big Mick and everyone else involved with the British World Cup teams all the very best of luck for the forthcoming tournament in Denmark.

I know that all 3 teams will be as competitive, proud, skilful, talented and as difficult to beat as always and I sincerely hope you all have a successful and memorable tournament – All the best guys.

P.S. I also think it’s about time we had an updated photo of all 4 Home Nations together at the World Cup as we haven’t since Austria, what do you think?

Once prepared fully you only have to close your eyes to see inside yourself and believe you can win.

Well done and keep up the good work. John. (Huge fan)
